Update and exciting changes
If we have any followers still I’ll be very surprised! The blog has been neglected for too long and I am making some drastic changes. The biggest change is the removal of the other authors on the blog. Noclichés started as a student project but as we approach graduation it is clear that the blog is going to have to head into a new direction if it will continue. I have decided to turn it into a personal design blog, a place to post my inspirations and interests. Some posts will be shorter. However, I also want to expand on the comment and debate, and so there will be some longer posts too, focusing on the bigger issues in design. I have actually already started writing some online articles (about non design related things) that can be found here and look forward to writing about design on noclichés. I have recently written a dissertation on Codes of Practice in graphic design and expect to either serialise it or summarise it once I have some more free time. Expect more changes over the coming months, including a design update. I would love to promise to update at least once a day, however I’m wary of this becoming a drag, posting inane work and also my degree which has completely taken over my life! However, I do have a huge backlog of great work I’ve been meaning to post for ages and that will be added over the coming weeks and months along with new, exciting work. I am debating whether I should post my own work on the blog, although I like the idea of being impartial rather than self-promoting. Welcome back
Hello, well it’s been a few months, I’m sorry for the lack of updates over the summer, I had been without internet while moving houses but now I am settled in a lovely new flat and on the world wide web again. Some quick updates then, you will of course have noticed the new third column with Twitter updates, I have now updated this to include Kathryn’s new blog, Tattarrattat. We are also going to start using tags to create an easier to browse blog. I am going to go through our archive and make sure all the old posts are tagged too. Any comments? Long time no speak
Just a quick update. Posts have dwindled a bit recently and this isn’t because I’ve lost interest or my inspiration has dried up. My last few weeks at Nick Bell Design kept me very busy and I’m now in New York for a bit over a month. Stay tuned for some exciting posts and maybe even some blog updates with my increasing amount of free time. Ed.

Brief update
Just a quick note, a few minor tweaks made today, first of all we now have a favicon which I think adds the final touch to the new design. Thank you WordPress 2.7. Secondly I have added recent comments to our front page so you can see what everyone is writing about our posts.

Coming up
We have some news! For those avid viewers amongst you, you may have noticed the design of the site changing rather weirdly over the weekend, well I have been testing the design for the site and we are almost there in moving over to noclichés 2.0. I have done some research into hosting options and for the time being we are going to stick with WordPress, the small CSS upgrade seems like the most viable option and does everything I need the site to do, for now at least. For this reason I haven’t posted anything for the last few days. My sources have not dried up I just wanted to concentrate as much time as possible on the new design. So be ready for a spate of posts that I have queuing up. Perhaps I will stagger them over the coming week. Anticipation and all.

Quickly does it
Well in a spate of urgency my new project is underway, there’s nothing like lots of work to do to encourage you to take even more projects on, even though this is more of a personal ‘thing’. Today I launched a new blog, completely separate from noclichés and the design world really. It’s called Helvetica&Rounded. Check it out, there’s a full description about why I am undertaking this new blog on the site.

Decisions
So I have come to a decision, I am going to change the hosting for my websites including this blog in the coming weeks, I am looking into appropriate providers and researching outages for email etc. I am also about to start a new project, some sister blogs and I’ll give some more details when their launch approaches. I don’t want to spoil the surprise. If you have any comments about the overall running of this blog you of course can comment on this page, or email me.

Hello
I’ve been meaning to update the whole site for a while really. At the moment I am trying to juggle a few things, of course this noclichesallowed blog, my website (and work on it) and I am also currently doing an Internship at Nick Bell Design. However, it seems I will have some more spare time in the future so I can devote more time to getting our own custom CSS code on this blog and can instigate other improvements too.
