Current TV is a channel generated by user submissions and our brief was to create a 30 second promotional video to encourage people to engage and contribute.
Sceptical about the impartiality of a project founded by Al Gore I wanted to subvert the channel by mirroring their approach with user generated content. I asked people to contribute short videos offering their opinion of Current, whether they were positive or negative. I then edited these together to encourage discussion and draw people into the channel.

I thought that it was just another news website. / I guess it’s user created content for the people, it’s what you want to watch in essence. / A really bold new world where everything is beta, everything is in a massive state of flux. / It kind of struck me like a more advanced version or a slightly different kind of alternative YouTube 2.0. / I mean this is news, this is our life. This is what we deal with everyday. / [Czech] / I do disagree with some of the big news programs they are all ultimately overseen and directed. / C’est bon.
