Presented with a poem from Perec’s Series of Spaces and Other Pieces we were asked to represent the work typographically. The aim was to make the poem easier to read using the design to reflect the content.
The theme of the poem is an itinerary for moving in and out of an apartment. I changed the unformatted text into a list emphasising the nature of the work. I also used varying weights to add rhythm to the piece and split the poem into its natural breaks to create the ten postcards.
